Our passion for tennis and the values it represents resonate with all of our employees. Positioned around three pillars which include the sport, the atmosphere and technological innovation, tennis is firmly focused on the future. In this context, CBTW developed a technological partnership with the Rolex Paris Masters in order to meet the new challenges of tennis.

Challenges

Through a number of events, the French Tennis Federation promotes, organizes and expands tennis and its associated disciplines in France. As such, the Rolex Paris Masters has become one of the premier indoor events. Each year, it gathers the best players in the world, and its reputation precedes it. The tournament was held last autumn from 29 October to 6 November at Accor Arena.

For the occasion, our teams worked on the redesign of tournament’s must-have digital tool: the Rolex Paris Masters mobile application. With this application, the FTF’s goal is not only to develop a new visual identity, but to surprise its fans, whether regulars or newcomers, by offering new and engaging features.

Approach

To develop this mobile application, we broke the project down into several key steps.

  • Definition of needs: workshops, wireframes, mock-ups and PoC.
  • Scoping: definition of the functional specifications and support to the FTF as the project progresses (access to match tracking, presentation of players, access to statistics during matches, gamification, news and general information, etc.).
  • Use of collaborative tools (Confluence): product documentation and project tracking, communication with the FTF team.
  • Development: based on an agile methodology, delivery of features and integration of statistics and complex design data from various third-party partners, including Didomi, Keycloack, brightcove, Protennis, Rabbitmq, ATP, TennisViz, Momentum.
  • Connection with Prismic CMS so French Tennis Federation employees can manage the content themselves.
  • Testing and feedback: under real conditions based on data from other ongoing tournaments in other cities and countries.

Benefits

The official mobile application of Rolex Paris Masters is the must-have tool for tennis fans looking to follow the Masters 1000 in its entirety. This new version of the mobile application is more modern and dynamic and offers a fluid and personalised experience that ensures continuity of the on-court experience.

  • Personalisation: the user can define their preferences through an optimized pathway. The personalised notification system allows them to receive the information that interests them.
  • Exclusive and informative content: lives scores, programs, articles, photos and videos, player lists and biographies.
  • Access to live statistics
  • Gaming zone just for fun, win games and, above all, be a player in some of the tournament’s new events.

This mobile application is free and available in App Store and Google Play.
